Rates & Fees
Postal Charge for letters mailed in the United States is included in Letters in the Dark subscriptions.
Any country on the USPS current index of countries and localities that we mail to, will have additional postage charges, which will be presented at checkout.
Item purchases, other than Letter subscriptions, will have shipping charges presented before the final checkout.
When are letters mailed?
The first letter will be mailed within 3 – 5 business days via USPS. The remaining letters will be mailed via USPS. Letters are typically mailed in the second and fourth weeks of every month.
Sales & Subscriptions
All sales and subscriptions made on our Site are considered final. The Company has a return policy in line with distance selling laws. If there is a problem or defect with any product delivered by Letters in the Dark, we will do our utmost to rectify the problem. If you are not satisfied with the product, it can be returned at the customer’s expense, as stipulated by distance selling laws. Products must be returned in their original, unopened, unused, and intact condition. If the products have been opened or used, we will not accept returns or offer refunds. By subscribing, you agree to these terms.
If the letter is damaged, lost, or thrown away based on a customer’s error, we will require a $6/letter within the US and $9/letter internationally to be resent to you.
If the letter is incorrect, damaged, missing pieces, or undeliverable based on errors within Letters in the Dark, we will resend the letter(s) at no cost to you.
If your letter gets lost in transit, you are entitled to a refund for that particular letter. Alternately, we can send a replacement free of charge.
All subscriptions (other than our designated non-renewing gift subscriptions) are set to renew automatically. Your card will be charged and your subscription will resume. If you do not want your subscription to renew, please log in to your account and cancel your subscription at any time.
You are entitled to a prorated refund of your paid in full subscription (for any reason) up to 2 months after it begins. If it’s been longer than 2 months, you are no longer entitled to a refund because multiple letters have already been mailed to your address.
If you mistype your shipping address during checkout and we send your letters, you are not entitled to a refund. We will, however, resend your letters to the corrected address as a courtesy.
It is the responsibility of the customer to update their address themselves in their customer dashboard and notify us of an address change. We will resend letters to the new address going back 3 months (90) days. Any letters that have been mailed past the 90-day mark are not subject to a refund or resend.
Upon cancellation of your subscription through the customer dashboard, you will receive a cancellation email notification stating that the account has been canceled. If you have emailed us to cancel the account for you, we will still notify you that the account has been canceled. You can also log into your account and see whether your account is active or canceled. If you are still being charged, you didn’t cancel your account.
